Reading Skills Diagnostic

Most Social Studies questions test how you read a passage, a map, a chart, or a cartoon, and this diagnostic checks those skills.

How this works

There are 30 questions in ten short parts. Each part covers one reading skill that the GED test asks about. Every answer is in the passage, map, chart, or picture itself, so you do not need to know the history beforehand. When you finish a part, press its Check this part button. Each question will be marked, and an explanation will appear under it.

The results table at the bottom fills in as you go. For each part, it tells you how you did and where to go to learn more.

You do not have to do it all at once. Your answers are kept in this browser, on this device, so you can stop and come back. There is no time limit. If you do not know an answer, it is better to leave it blank than to guess: then the results table will show you what to study.
