Two examples

Example 1

(−2) × (−3) × (−5) =
  1. Count the negatives: three, an odd number, so the answer is negative.
  2. 2 × 3 × 5 = 30.

Answer: −30

Example 2

(−1) × 4 × (−5) =
  1. Two negatives, an even number: positive.
  2. 1 × 4 × 5 = 20.

Answer: 20
