Two examples

Example 1

Which words are in the wrong place? I found a wallet on the train with no money in it.
  1. Read the sentence literally, the way a stranger would. It says the train had no money in it.
  2. The words with no money in it describe the wallet, but they sit next to train.
  3. Fix: On the train, I found a wallet with no money in it.

Answer: with no money in it

Example 2

Which words are in the wrong place? We bought a puppy for my son with brown spots.
  1. Read it literally: my son has brown spots.
  2. The spots belong to the puppy, so with brown spots should sit next to puppy.
  3. Fix: We bought my son a puppy with brown spots.

Answer: with brown spots
