Two examples

Example 1

I ______ know the answer.Choices: dont  /  don’t  /  do’nt
  1. The word is do not pushed together.
  2. The apostrophe goes where the letter was left out: the o of not, between n and t.

Answer: I don’t know the answer.

Example 2

We sell fresh ______.Choices: bagel’s  /  bagels  /  bagels’
  1. Is anything belonging to the bagels, or are letters left out? No. It is just more than one bagel.
  2. An apostrophe does not make a word plural. Just add s.

Answer: We sell fresh bagels.
