Two examples

Example 1

Write in digits: forty-six thousand, two hundred five
  1. One group of three digits for each part: forty-six thousand → 46; two hundred five → 205.
  2. Put a comma between the groups.

Answer: 46,205

Example 2

Which is 30,060 in words?
  1. Split it into groups: 30 and 060.
  2. Say each group with its name: thirty thousand, then sixty. The zeros are not said.

Answer: thirty thousand, sixty
