Two examples

Example 1

What is the x-intercept of 2x + 3y = 12?
  1. On the x-axis, y = 0: 2x = 12.
  2. x = 6. The line crosses the x-axis at (6, 0).

Answer: 6

Example 2

What is the y-intercept of 2x + 3y = 12?
  1. On the y-axis, x = 0: 3y = 12.
