Example 1
The least common denominator of 14 and 56 is
- List the multiples of the larger denominator, 6: 6, 12.
- 4 does not go into 6, but it goes into 12.
Answer: 12
Example 2
The least common denominator of 23 and 35 is
- Multiples of 5: 5, 10, 15.
- 3 first goes into 15.
