Two examples

Example 1

A pack of 6 cans costs $7.50. What is the price of one can?
  1. Divide the price by the number of cans: 7.50 ÷ 6 = 1.25.

Answer: $1.25

Example 2

A bus travels 234 miles in 4 hours. How many miles does it go in one hour?
  1. Divide the miles by the hours: 234 ÷ 4 = 58.5.

Answer: 58.5 miles per hour
