Two examples

Example 1

A rectangle is 12 feet long and 7 feet wide. What is its perimeter?
  1. Two lengths and two widths: 2 × 12 + 2 × 7 = 24 + 14.

Answer: 38 feet

Example 2

A regular hexagon has sides of 5 cm. What is its perimeter?
  1. Six equal sides: 6 × 5.

Answer: 30 cm
