Worked examples

Two examples

Example 1

A box is 10 in long, 4 in wide and 3 in tall. What is its volume?
  1. V = length × width × height = 10 × 4 × 3.

Answer: 120 cubic inches

Example 2

A cube has edges of 5 cm. What is its volume?
  1. 5 × 5 × 5.

Answer: 125 cubic cm
