Two examples
Example 1
- There is not the subject. The verb comes first here.
- Turn the sentence around: three boxes ___ on the cart. The subject is boxes, plural.
Answer: There are three boxes on the cart.
Example 2
- In a question, the subject often comes after the verb.
- Turn it into a statement: the form ___ where? The subject is form, one.
Answer: Where is the form I signed?
