Two examples

Example 1

347 × 26 =
  1. Split 26 into 20 and 6.
  2. 347 × 6 = 2,082. 347 × 20 = 6,940.
  3. Add the two: 2,082 + 6,940.

Answer: 9,022

Example 2

58 × 43 =
  1. Split 43 into 40 and 3.
  2. 58 × 3 = 174. 58 × 40 = 2,320.
  3. 174 + 2,320.

Answer: 2,494
