Example 1

4.5 ÷ 0.15 =
  1. Move the point 2 places to the right in both numbers: 450 ÷ 15.
  2. Divide. Check: 30 × 0.15 = 4.5.

Answer: 30

Example 2

2.04 ÷ 0.6 =
  1. Move the point 1 place to the right in both: 20.4 ÷ 6.
  2. Divide, keeping the point in line. Check: 3.4 × 0.6 = 2.04.

Answer: 3.4
