Two examples

Example 1

Write 45% as a decimal.
  1. Percent means “out of 100,” so divide by 100: move the point 2 places to the left.

Answer: 0.45

Example 2

Write 0.07 as a percent.
  1. Multiply by 100: move the point 2 places to the right.

Answer: 7%
