Two examples
Example 1
What is 35% of 80?
- Change the percent to a decimal: 0.35.
- Multiply: 0.35 × 80 = 28.
Answer: 28
Example 2
What is 150% of 60?
- 150% = 1.5.
- 1.5 × 60 = 90. More than 100% gives more than the whole.
Answer: 90
