Worked examples

Two examples

Example 1

18 is what percent of 72?
  1. Divide the part by the whole: 18 ÷ 72 = 0.25.
  2. Multiply by 100.

Answer: 25%

Example 2

45 is what percent of 60?
  1. 45 ÷ 60 = 0.75.
  2. As a percent: 75%.

Answer: 75%
