Worked examples

Two examples

Example 1

Use F = 95C + 32. What is 25°C in Fahrenheit?
  1. Put 25 in place of C: 95 × 25 = 45.
  2. 45 + 32 = 77.

Answer: 77°F

Example 2

Use C = 59(F − 32). What is 50°F in Celsius?
  1. Parentheses first: 50 − 32 = 18.
  2. 59 × 18 = 10.

Answer: 10°C
