Two examples

Example 1

A triangle has a base of 10 cm and a height of 6 cm. What is its area?
  1. A triangle is half a rectangle: 12 × 10 × 6.

Answer: 30 square cm

Example 2

A triangle has a base of 7 ft and a height of 5 ft. What is its area?
  1. 12 × 7 × 5 = 17.5.

Answer: 17.5 square feet
