Two examples

Example 1

A bar reaches halfway between the lines for 30 and 40. What value is it?
  1. Halfway between 30 and 40 is 35.

Answer: 35

Example 2

One bar is at 45 and another at 20. How many more is the first?
  1. 45 − 20.

Answer: 25
