Two examples

Example 1

A box plot runs from 20 to 70, with the box from 35 to 55 and the middle line at 45. What is the median?
  1. The line inside the box is the median.

Answer: 45

Example 2

Same plot. What is the interquartile range?
  1. The width of the box: 55 − 35.

Answer: 20
